Gonzalez to become Braves Closer

Mike Gonzalez is said to be taking over the closers duties while Bob Wickman is on the 15 day DL. Wickman, whom has been a walk producing machine of lately, walked three and gave up 2 ER's in a 11 inning loss to Colorado this past week. He has also 10 walks in 11.3 innings for the year. If Gonzalez flourishes while Wickman is out he may start to see more save opportunities.

Gonzalez picked up the win in last nights game as he pitched a scoreless ninth inning. The Braves would go on to score 3 times in the bottom of the ninth to defeat the Phillies, 5-2.
