Jake Peavy came off the DL today to pitch a nice gem. He was being held on a strict pitch count so I wasn't expecting much from the get go but he ended up pitching six shut out innings today and picked up a W.
My pitching has been sour lately and I am hoping that this will jump start them a bit. With the recent addition of Ted Lilly to our team I believe this is possible. I traded Jose Castillo for Ted Lilly from Todd. Todd was in the process of pulling off a trade and he contacted me asking if I wanted Lilly for Castillo. I guess he needed a third baseman badly. I jumped at the offer and it was probably the quickest trade in Beaver Roto League history. I hesitated for a little bit to make it seem that I wasn't to excited about it but I think it took a total of 30 minutes for both of us to pull the trigger.
