The All Star Future's game was played yesterday. The World team defeated the U.S. Team 7 to 2. Notable performances where from Joey Votto who hit a solo homerun and so did Justin Upton. These guys are currently on some of our rosters. Neither will likely see action until September though but they promise to be rising studs in the near future. The Homerun derby is tonight. The participants are Alex Rios (Toronto), Justin Morneau (Minnesota), Vladimir Guerrero (Los Angeles of Anaheim), and Magglio Ordonez (Detriot) for the American League.
Participants from the National League are Albert Pujols (St Louis), Ryan Howard (Philadelphia), and Prince Fielder (Milwaukee). One more spot is open for the National League as Miguel Cabrera withdrew on Sunday. Maybe Bonds will join them, not likely but you never know. He loves toying with the reporters and fans, that is how he rolls.
Update: Matt Holliday is in the Derby now.
I wonder what the over/under is for water crafts in McCovey Cove will be? More ASG updates as they happen from AT&T park as they occur.
Update:
There looked to be close to 60 kayaks out in the cove. I am not sure what the final tally was. John Maine was hilarious with his kayak cam.
Update: Vlad wins Homerun Derby!!!
Update: Bonds doesn't know't care what the commissioner, Bud Selig, does in response to reporters asking him if he thought that the commisioner would be present for his breaking of the All Time Homerun Record. Does he do anything???
